Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."                   - John 6:35 NLT

First and foremost, you must Feed your Soul. How? With the tools that were provided by the Creator himself -- the Bible and Prayer. With these tools we are able to restore or resume our connection with Him. There are over 30 references in the Bible to Bread as a sustaining source and it doesn't mean the kind made from flour.

In John 6:35 Jesus refers to himself as the Bread of Life and Living Water. Bread and water are what helps sustain the physical body and bread and water will sustain the spiritual body. Just taking the time to read His Word and sit in His presence quietly reflecting on Him and listening for direction can make or break your day.

I'm still a work in progress when it comes to this disciplined way of life. I often allow the "world" to come before the "Word" rather than the other way around. There are plenty of devotionals available on the web but those are a result of somebody else's alone time with God. They have shared what God revealed to them in their quiet moments. Those methods are great to read about and learn from, but the Word is LIVING and ACTIVE and has something just for me and you.

One of my goals was to read and journal my way through my women's devotional Bible. I write a checkmark next to each chapter read and journal about any particular verses that stuck out to me that day. I haven't always been consistent, but I am making progress.

Taste and see that the Lord is good.
