You know how a caring parent guides their kid, dropping nuggets of wisdom from their own journey? That's God for us. He's like the coach in our corner, the teacher guiding us through the maze, the counselor offering us a listening ear and wise words. His advice? It's all over the place - in scriptures, life's twists and turns, even those unexpected opportunities that pop up.
Psalms 32:8 tells us that God will instruct us and teach us in that way we should go and that He will counsel us with His loving eye on us.
Remember the story of the Good Samaritan? (Luke 10:25-37). Classic teaching moment about loving your neighbor. Or the Golden Rule in Matthew 7:12, "Do to others what you would have them do to you." These instructions aren't confined to Bible times. No siree! They pop up in the nitty-gritty of our everyday lives.
And that's where the challenge kicks in. Let's play a little game of "spot the guidance." Whether it's an enlightening conversation with a friend, a timely billboard message, or even an unexpected obstacle. Or ever have those "aha!" moments in the quiet times? Or those situations that just push you out of your comfort zone?
Listen for that quiet voice in the stillness of the night. Watch out for situations or people that shake you up, stretch you, make you grow. That could be God, holding the teaching stick, and cheering you on.
Give it a shot. He's saying, "I've got you. I'll be your GPS, your mentor, and your life coach." Let's intentionally open our eyes and ears to become more aware of God's guidance every day.
